Night Skies in the Observatory (Tuesday, October 9, 7 – 10PM @ The Franklin Institute, 220 N 20th St)
Join us for an evening of ‘out of this world’ astronomy activities hosted by Franklin Institute Chief Astronomer Derrick Pitts. Night Skies in the Observatory is an all ages monthly stargazing event connecting you to celestial objects in the night sky including stars, planets, and nebulae using telescopes in Bloom Observatory and at ‘Ben’s Starlight Lounge’ on our 5th floor rooftop observation deck, featuring a cash bar. Build your own experience from any combination of planetarium shows, a live science talk on astronomy or space science, hands-on astronomy activities and continuous telescopic observing all evening (weather permitting). The program is staffed with knowledgeable observers and free star maps are provided.

Harvest Fest 2018 (Sunday, October 14, 12 – 3PM @ Bartram’s Garden, 5400 Lindbergh Blvd)
“Grab your family and come on down to the 2018 Harvest Festival at Sankofa Community Farm at Bartram’s Garden! We will have Pumpkin Carving, Cider pressing, Garlic Planting, Hayrides, Food Workshops, paddling on the river, and so so much more! DJ Flipside will be taking us through the day with his amazing tunes! There will be an amazing concert from 3:00-6:00 following festival.
